We may have heard the terms before, but do we really understand the benefits of organic versus standard cotton, what PeTA has to do with clothes, and what Fair Wear manufacture means?
Here we take a look at the details of our products and processes, what makes them more sustainable, and why we've chosen them for you.
Organic Cotton

Is gloriously soft, lightweight and breathable

Combats climate change by building healthy soils that store carbon

Doesn't use pesticides or artificial fertilisers, preventing contamination of local water and wildlife

Encourages biodiversity through crop rotation and companion planting to discourage pests naturally

Uses around 90% less water to grow and clean
Our zip-thru hoodies, t-shirts, caps and cotton beanies are made from 100% organic cotton.

Ring-spun & Combed Cotton

Ring-spun is the result of a spinning method that produces finer, softer, more durable thread

Combing removes the shorter fibres that are prone to fraying and breaking, producing a softer, stronger thread

Both process are more costly, but result in a better quality, longer lasting garment
All of our t-shirts are made from ring-spun, combed cotton.

Recycled Polyester

Reduces the amount of plastic headed to landfill by using it to make new polyester

Is just as good quality as virgin polyester, making clothing more flexible and resistant, therefore longer- lasting

Emits 70% less greenhouse gases in production versus virgin polyester
Our pullover hoodies are made with a blend of organic cotton and recycled polyester.
Our gilets, bum bags and duffel bags are made from recycled polyester, stopping up to 10 plastic bottles going to landfill.

Fair Wear Membership
The Fair Wear foundation is an independent, non-profit organisation that is working to improve conditions for workers in clothing factories.
Its certified members:

pay their staff at least the living wage

PeTA-Approved Vegan

The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PeTA) foundation is a UK-based charity dedicated to establishing and protecting the rights of all animals

Clothing that is PeTA-approved vegan is verified as being 100% free of animal-derived materials
All of our t-shirts and hoodies are provided by PeTA-approved vegan suppliers.
The rest of our products are vegan too.

Water-Based Inks

These are made with water + pigment instead of environmentally and medically damaging CFCs, PVC, heavy metals or phthalates

They can be easily cleaned off printing tools using water instead of harmful solvents

They are softer and feel less 'rubbery'

They are now just as washable and durable as plastisol inks
All of the inks used in the decoration of our garments are water-based and vegan.

Eco-Embroidery

This process uses rayon (wood pulp) thread from sustainably managed forests instead of the standard, virgin polyester thread

It uses natural, plastic-free backing materials
All of our cotton beanies and caps are eco-embroidered.

Renewable Energy & Carbon Neutral Gas

Renewable energy is the electricity collected from resources that are naturally replenished, such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides, waves and geothermal, instead of finite resources like oil and gas

Carbon neutral gas simply means that the emissions produced by using natural gas are balanced by verified carbon offset projects

Green gas (biomethane) is made from renewable sources such as leftover food and farm waste - it is produced differently from normal gas and is virtually carbon neutral when burned
The decoration process for our t-shirts, hoodies, caps & cotton beanies uses 100% renewable energy and 100% carbon neutral gas through a combination of green gas and carbon offset projects.

Compostable Packaging

This is certified to break down completely into non-toxic components that will not harm the environment
All of our orders are wrapped in recycled, undyed, compostable tissue paper, secured with a compostable sticker, and dispatched in a compostable mailing bag.
