A new star is born

After a few months of making sure I'm fully stocked in a good range of sizes of my current products, I've finally saved up to create a whole new product. Introducing: the delightfully summery, buttery soft organic cotton Enduro Mango T-shirt!

Inspired by the upcoming Scottish leg of the Enduro World Series, I set off into the hills near Stirling to get an iconic silhouette shot of my (apparently now vintage) mountain bike against the setting sun. I certainly don't think anyone wants a photo of me on my bike on their t-shirt, so cue some very precarious bike balancing acts using the handle of an old paint roller and some very helpfully located rocks to prop my trusty steed upright on her own.

An alarming number of topples, a whole hill race completed and a chance encounter with a long lost uni friend later and I thought I'd probably managed to take some useable shots. Or at least, my stomach was loudly advising passers-by that I should cut my losses and get home for dinner.

I definitely did get some useable shots. I also somehow managed to spin 180° in the dust on my way back down the hill on the bike (and then off the bike) and got an ouchie on my elbow. But that's another (far too regular) story.

It took a couple of days of trial and error, tinkering with the photos and the garment colours, so that I now have around 20 designs that may never see the light of day. Fortunately, I have a fantastically opinionated group of mountain-biking friends who were more than happy to (via WhatsApp) guide me towards the correct choice for the final design, and I think they did a great job.

After that it only took a few hundred pounds, a few phone calls, one broken printer and a good few system errors to be able to say:

I'm delighted to announce that the new Falling Leaf Clothing Enduro Mango T-shirt is now available! Order online or pop along to the Makers Market at the EWS in Innerleithen this Sunday to get one of your very own.

As with all our products, it's vegan, Fair Wear Certified and unisex, made using 100% organic cotton, printed using solvent-free, water-based inks and 100% renewable energy. It's tagged with our wildflower seed paper tags using jute string, and if you order online it'll come in entirely compostable packaging. Guilt-free clothing that doesn't cost the earth!

What do you think? Send us your thoughts on this vibrant new design, or give us ideas for the next ones -
